Neymar’s on the comeback trail! Al-Hilal & Brazil superstar shows off impressive flexibility in gym as he steps up recovery from ACL surgery with Copa America looming on horizon

Neymar suffered ACL tear in October

Continues to get back to full fitness

Forward steps up recovery in latest Instagram post

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 32-year-old forward tore his ACL in October of last year while on Brazil duty, with it revealed he would require surgery a month later. Neymar has endured a gruelling process to recovery from that major setback, but he appears to be nearing a return to action after a recent update posted on his Instagram page.

WHAT NEYMAR POSTED

The Brazilian posted a selection of pictures doing upper and lower-body stretches, as he showed off his new-found flexibility.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The post not only shows off Neymar with increased flexibility but also in decidedly better shape than when he first returned to Al-Hilal training last month, where he was ribbed for looking overweight by rivals fans. While there is no confirmed date for his return to action, the mercurial forward will surely have one eye on the upcoming Copa America in the USA. That contest starts on June 21, with Brazil’s opener coming four days later

WHAT NEXT FOR NEYMAR?

At club level Neymar played just five games for Al-Hilal before his ACL heartbreak, but the Saudi Pro League giants have coped just fine without him. They recently celebrated a world-record 28th consecutive win across all competitions and currently sit 12 points clear at the top of the table.
