💔 Christa Pike Speaks Publicly for the First Time After Surviving exє𝔠uti☉n: “I’m in Constant Pain” — Could Tennessee Try Again?

She entered Tennessee’s exє𝔠uti☉n chamber believing she would never leave alive. After receiving two doses of a lєthaℓ-inje𝔠ti☉n drug, Christa Pike survived. Days later, she woke up in a hospital, confused and suffering. Now, in her first public statement, the 50-year-old says the pain has never stopped — while her lawyers prepare for the possibility that the state could attempt to execute her again.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — November 7, 2026. Christa Gail Pike, the Tennessee dєatᩚh-row prisoner who survived a failed lєthaℓ inje𝔠ti☉n on September 30, has spoken publicly for the first time about the physical suffering and emotional trauma she says followed the procedure.

Her statement, dictated to her attorneys and released on October 30, came exactly one month after the state attempted to carry out her dєatᩚh sentence.

Pike described waking up in a hospital several days after the exє𝔠uti☉n attempt, unaware of what had happened.

She said her arms, hands, throat and body continued to hurt, and that she still struggled to speak.

But her statement also raised another troubling question.

After surviving a procedure intended to end her life, could she eventually be required to undergo another exє𝔠uti☉n attempt?

She Walked Into the Chamber Prepared to Die

On September 30, Pike entered the exє𝔠uti☉n chamber at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville.

She had been sentenced to dєatᩚh for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer in Knoxville.

Pike was 18 at the time of the crime.

After decades of legal challenges, her exє𝔠uti☉n date had arrived.

In her October 30 statement, Pike said she had prepared herself for the end of her life.

She had said goodbye to people who supported her and thanked those who had stood by her over the years.

She did not expect to survive.

But the exє𝔠uti☉n did not proceed as officials anticipated.

Two Doses — And an Emergency Hospital Transfer

Tennessee’s exє𝔠uti☉n protocol used pentobarbital, a powerful sedative administered intravenously.

According to court records, officials attempted to establish intravenous access before administering the drug.

Witnesses described a prolonged and difficult procedure.

Pike received two doses of pentobarbital but remained alive.

The situation prompted emergency legal action.

Her attorneys asked the Tennessee Supreme Court to intervene, and officials ultimately authorized medical treatment.

Pike was transported by ambulance to a hospital.

She remained unconscious and required intensive medical care, including ventilator support.

Days later, she regained consciousness.

The circumstances placed Tennessee’s exє𝔠uti☉n procedures under intense scrutiny.
