A Chula Vista court delivered a 𝘴h☉𝔠king sentence in the case of murderer Larry Millete, including for his father, who suffered several shocks from his “pacemaker” as he advocated for his son.
The shocks were caught live on camera as Larry’s father, Benito, accused his implanted device of “attacking” him on Monday.
“This is what happens in this world,” Larry’s dad says as he was reportedly disparaging the slain Maya Millete. A jury convicted Larry of first-degree murder, though Maya’s body was never found.

WTH – Larry Millette is being sentenced today for the murder of his missing wife, Maya. Millette’s father gave a statement saying his son is innocent, and he started saying disparaging things about Maya Millette when his pacemaker started attacking him. The father then grimaces and stumbles back, grunting.
“Oh s–t,” he exclaims.
Benito then slams the microphone down and says, “I’m sorry, Your Honor, I’ve got the pacemaker.”
Larry’s father tries to continue but gets shocked again, horrifying him further. He yells the expletive again.
He claims that “there is static” in the room, which could interfere with his pacemaker.
The man then continues to react to the “pacemaker” 𝘴h☉𝔠king him and asks for medical attention.
Sheriff’s deputies then guided Larry’s father out of the room.

He was later seen being lifted into an ambulance outside the courthouse. His current condition is unknown, but he was conscious and talking as he was loaded.
It’s unlikely that a pacemaker was delivering shocks to Benito. A pacemaker does not deliver shocks, but an internal defibrillator does, according to the American College of Cardiology.
It was a day of bad luck for Larry’s side of the family as the convicted murderer received a heavy sentence of 25 years to life in prison. Judge Enrique Camarena also denied Larry Millete parole and called him a danger to society.

The Navy optician was found guilty of first-degree murder after about five hours of deliberation by a jury back in July, which reviewed evidence that revealed domestic 𝘢bu𝘴e, infidelity, and a campaign of fear against the mother of three, who was last seen in January 2021 and has never been found.
One ᑕriᩚtiᩚcal piece of evidence was Maya’s journal. In it, explosive entries spoke of fears that she had regarding her husband. The mother of three accused him of domestic 𝘢bu𝘴e and wrote about standing up for herself.
“He 𝘢bu𝘴e𝘴 me physically. … I want to be strong, so he never puts his hands on me again,” she wrote in one entry.

His father believed him to be innocent because he had asked Larry several times if he did anything to Maya, and Larry told him no. “I would not be here at this very moment if I did not believe my son,” he said.
He also claimed his son told his family not to disturb had told his family to not disturb Maya on occasions when she had a headache or was “drunk.”
The remark earned ire and gasps from the gallery.
Larry Millete spoke in court on the impactful day, telling his wife’s family that he missed her. He also told his children that he loved them.
“I want to let you guys know, I really love your sister, I miss her every day,” he said while looking at one of Maya’s sisters.
But her family didn’t believe him.
“Why did you 𝘬iᩚll her?” one of Maya’s nieces screamed.
