Investigation Continues After ICE Encounter Involving Houston Father

HOUSTON, Texas — Authorities continue investigating the incident involving Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 52-year-old construction worker, during an immigration enforcement operation carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Houston.

The case has prompted calls for an independent investigation from family members, community leaders, and civil rights organizations.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ICE officers attempted to stop Lorenzo Salgado Araujo during a targeted enforcement operation.

Federal officials allege that he ignored commands and used his vehicle in a way that threatened an officer, who then f1r3d in what the agency described as s3lf-d3f3ns3.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General continue reviewing the incident.

The family of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo strongly disputes the federal account. His son, Ronaldo Salgado, described his father as a hardworking husband and devoted parent who spent decades supporting his family.
