Navigating the complexities of player contracts and transfer fees is proving to be the biggest hurdle in bringing Mbappe to Real Madrid. Stay tuned for updates.

The compensation offered by Real Madrid to Kylian Mbappe did not meet the French striker’s expectations, making the transfer deal unstable.

According to sources from The Athletic, Mbappe is currently leaning towards Real Madrid, but the French player is not satisfied with the offer from the Royal Spanish team.

Goal quoted their source: “Mbappe’s side is not satisfied, the transfer deal is increasingly suspected.”

The main reason for this dissatisfaction is that the remuneration offered by Real Madrid is lower than the agreement agreed upon by both sides two years ago. At that time, Mbappe is expected to receive a salary of 26 million euros per season and a signing bonus of up to 130 million euros.

Currently, Mbappe is enjoying a salary of 75 million euros per season (excluding bonuses) at PSG. The Athletic confirmed that Real Madrid cannot meet such high remuneration.

This is a big barrier that causes the deal to go wrong. However, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez still hopes to convince Mbappe to go to Spain to play football.

Currently, there are only two possibilities: Mbappe extends his contract with PSG or joins Real Madrid. However, to date, no contract has been signed.

The Athletic concluded: “All the two clubs can do is wait.”

Real Madrid has been pursuing Mbappe for more than 10 years. When he was just 11 years old, Mbappe visited Real Madrid’s facilities and trained with the U12 team. The boy also took pictures with his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. However, in the end Mbappe chose AS Monaco to develop his career.
