MSN are back! Neymar video calls Luis Suarez from the stands during PSG game so he can watch former team-mate Lionel Messi play… as iconic ex- Barcelona trio form brief reunion

Barcelona’s famous ‘MSN’ mate a brief reunion of sorts on Saturday evening when Neymar video called Luis Suarez during a PSG game.

The French side won 5-0 at the weekend against Ajaccio as they moved one step closer to once again winning the Ligue 1 title.

Neymar, one of the club’s regular forwards, is out injured but has regularly been spotted at games to cheer on his team-mates in their quest for the title.

The third member of the trio, though, Lionel Messi, started the game and played the full 90 minutes on his return from a club suspension for an unsanctioned trip to Saudi Arabia.

Neymar called Suarez during the game as the two watched their friend – who was booed during the game by his own fans –  play, posting a photo on social media captioned ‘watching out friend @leomessi “together”‘, as they rolled back the years to their time at Barcelona.

The two spent several years together at Barcelona, forming the famous ‘MSN’ trio

They won three Copa del Rey trophies, two La Ligas, a Champions League and Club World Cup together

The three players became a famous trio when they formed Barcelona’s front three for several year, driving the Catalan side to several successes.

In the 409 games they played together during their time at the club, they scored 344 goals between them.

They broke several records along the way, including the most goals scored by a trio in one season in Spanish football history.

In the league alone, they notched up 250 goals in 299 games. Their incredible league statistics mean they scored a goal, on average, every 102 minutes.

This formidable three-pronged attack spearheaded the Catalan giants to two La Liga titles in three seasons, while also claiming three Copa del Rey trophies, a Champions League and a Club World Cup.

They became good friends off the field too, clearly becoming pals for life and still in contact despite all three players leaving the club.

Neymar was the first to leave, making a £200million move to PSG un 2017 before Suarez departed in the summer of 2020, joining Atletico Madrid.

Messi infamously left the club in the summer of 2021, and was reduced to tears when the move was confirmed. He has, however, recently been linked with a move back to his former side.

The World Cup winning captain was suspended by the club for two weeks after his trip to Saudi Arabia, but returned to the side on Saturday for the first time since his ban.

There have been suggestions he has told the PSG he will be departing in the summer, with Inter Miami and Al-Hilal touted as the most likely destinations, though his relationship with Barcelona has always meant the links will be there.

Suarez, now 36, is playing for Gremio in Brazil, and answered the phone with a huge grin on his face as the two watched Messi from the stands.

The Uruguayan appeared to be laying in bed in the photo shared by Neymar on Instagram, which saw the two posing for a photo.
