Kylian Mbappe recently posted a statement on his social media channels in response to PSG’s campaign to renew season tickets for the 2023-24 season.

It was a public criticism from the striker, who considered that the club had focused only on Mbappe himself.

“PSG are a great club and a great family, but it is not Kylian Saint-Germain,” the player wrote.

Now, just over a week later, Fayza Lamari, Mbappe’s mother, explained the player’s state of mind at the time and the reasons behind his reaction.

“He was angry. He called me, as he usually does. When he decides to do something on social media, he still takes the time to call two or three people,” she said.

“I understood his distress and, at the same time, I told him: ‘Now is not the time to react. Let it go and there will always be time to restore the truth’. To which he replied: ‘No, no, I don’t want to wait. I know the consequences and I will accept them’,” recalls Fayza Lamari on the programme Public Senat.

“He said it in the heat of the moment, with his heart. He simply responded like a child who was born with social media, everyone has their own communication,” Fayza Lamar continued.
