Liverpool’s chances of signing Kylian Mbappe after Jurgen Klopp confirms he’s leaving

Jurgen Klopp has announced he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, and this could have a huge impact on their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

Reds fans are absolutely devastated this morning. Nobody saw this coming, but Klopp says he has no energy left and that is the reason behind his decision.

Liverpool’s chances of signing Kylian Mbappe have ‘plummeted’

Jurgen Klopp is one of the best managers in the world, and he is among the biggest reasons why Liverpool are so attractive to top players today.

The Reds have usually signed players with big potential and developed them into superstars, but they will need to splash some cash on a huge name at some point.

Many feel Kylian Mbappe could be that player, and the Paris Saint-Germain star has been linked with a move to Anfield on plenty of occasions in recent months.

Klopp’s presence at Liverpool is obviously a massive attraction, but now that the German has announced he will be leaving, the Reds’ chances of signing Mbappe have taken a big hit.

That’s according to Ligue 1 journalist Matt Spiro, who revealed today after Klopp’s announcement that Liverpool’s hopes of signing Mbappe have ‘plummeted’.

He tweeted: “Chances of Kylian Mbappe joining Liverpool any time soon have just plummeted.

“Playing for Klopp was something that definitely appealed to him.”

Jurgen Klopp leaving is a big blow for Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s announcement this morning was just devastating news for every Liverpool fan.

Everyone knew this day would come at some point, but nobody expected it to happen halfway through the season when Liverpool are dominating on all fronts.

Klopp’s exit is a humongous blow for the Reds. It’s never easy to replace any manager, let alone someone who is one of the best.

It will be interesting to see who Liverpool will replace Klopp with. If the owners don’t get it right, the Reds could really struggle – similar to how Manchester United have since Sir Alex Ferguson‘s departure.
