Kevin De Bruyne Urges Kylian Mbappé to Consider Real Madrid Move – Insightful Advice from the Belgian Star

In an interview with SKY, the Manchester City midfielder suggested to the frenchman to join Real Madrid.

Kevin De Bruyne and Kylian Mbappé

Kevin De Bruyne, who secured the third position in the most recent Ballon d’Or, an award ultimately claimed by Karim Benzema, placed Vinicius Junior ahead of Kylian Mbappé.

The Belgian midfielder has provided insight into his reasoning in an interview with Sky Sports: “I’m unsure about where (Kylian) Mbappé will play this season. I also think it’s more challenging for Mbappé to win it at PSG. There are rumors of a potential move to Real Madrid, so perhaps I would rank him first, ahead of (Erling) Haaland or something like that.”

The Manchester City player, who was out of action for several months due to a muscular injury suffered in the first league match and subsequent surgery, is well informed about the transfer market rumors. However, when it comes to upcoming decisions, Kevin De Bruyne is firm: “Erling (Haaland) is my Ballon d’Or with the season he’s had.”

In the Sky Sports interview, the Belgian also had to rank three of the players who are ‘competing’ with Kevin De Bruyne himself to be the best offensive midfielders and playmakers in the Premier League, based on preference and personal taste. “(James) Maddison is highly creative, but I need to see him more in a bigger team for that perception to change,” stated the Belgian.

Apart from the Tottenham player, Kevin De Bruyne acknowledged that Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United is “A creative machine, just in general. He’s been doing it for a long time.” He also mentioned that the Gunner Martin Ødegaard is also “Highly creative, but more controlled. Ødegaard was incredible last year, but obviously, he’s younger.”

What happened to Kevin De Bruyne and when will he return to play?

Kevin De Bruyne has sustained a significant injury and will not be available for the rest of 2023. KDB made his return as a substitute in the English Super Cup against Arsenal, and in his league debut against Burnley, he started the game but he only last 23 minutes on the field. Now, the worst predictions have come true. The 32 year old midfielder got injured in the Champions League final against Inter de Milan.
