Haaland’s unstoppable drive brings home his first title, surpassing even the legendary Ronaldo. What a moment for the rising star!

Erling Haaland was honored as the Best Male Player at the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai, which took place in the early morning of January 20, 2024, Vietnam time.

This is a worthy reward for Haaland after a year of successful competition. The Norwegian striker scored 52 goals in 53 games for Manchester City last season, helping the club win glory in the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

This achievement helped him surpass Cristiano Ronaldo to be honored. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to help Haaland beat Lionel Messi in the voting for both the Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best Men’s Player awards.

Although he could not win the highest title, Ronaldo still had a title to take home when he was named the Best Middle East Player.

He also received the Maradona award for being the top scorer in world football last year – with 54 goals in 59 matches for Al Nassr and Portugal. Finally, Ronaldo continued to receive the Best Player of the Year award voted by fans.

In other categories, Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati won the Best Female Player award. Meanwhile, young player Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid and England won the Promising Young Player award.
