Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes his old club deserves to win the 2017/18 Premier League title. Optimism is in the air!

In a conversation with FIVE channel hosted by Rio Ferdinand and Stephen Howson, coach Jose Mouirnho shared about his time at Man Utd. He believes that in the 2017/18 season, the Red Devils should have won the tournament. At the same time, I expressed my optimism when his old team changed when the INEOS group returned to Old Trafford.

Mourinho became the head coach of Man Utd in 2016. In his first season, he and the Red Devils won the Europa League and the English League Cup. In the second season, the red half of Manchester finished second in the Premier League – their best position since Sir Alex left. But poor results in the first half of the 2018/19 season led to Mourinho’s dismissal. However, the Portuguese coach still believes that second place is one of the best achievements he has had.

Sharing with Rio Ferdinand, he also said that his old team should have reclaimed the title of the 2017/18 season because Man City – the championship team – violated Financial Fair Play laws.

“Is there any chance for us to win the championship that season? No? Because Man City broke the rules, maybe points would have been deducted and we would have won the championship.”

“I loved my time there. I was proud and even prouder a few years later when I came back as a Sky commentator and felt the crowd turn towards me, I was like ‘wow “. I always feel that we are still together and the reaction of the fans makes me emotional. Co-coaching Man Utd with Sir Alex is a matter of pride as well as a sense of responsibility. A club with a rich history, legendary players, I’m very happy and proud to be there…”
