Erling Haaland, John Cena and Manchester City’s tour of the U.S.

The Champions League champions announced their pre-season tour in a very particular way

Manchester City finally saw the fruits of a huge investment over the last few years, in which they have spent millions on signing top players to give Pep Guardiola the necessary tools. Finally, last season they managed to win a historic treble, in which they won the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League and the FA Cup, which placed them as great favorites to win it all this season.

Pep Guardiola’s team has a real chance of repeating the feat this season, as they can still conquer those three titles. However, it will not be easy for them, as they will have to face Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and they will have to wait for Liverpool and Arsenal to fail to win the Premier League title, but nothing is impossible and they have one of the best teams in Europe.

Despite this, the team is already planning for the upcoming season, particularly their pre-season, which has already been officially announced as a tour throughout the United States. What caught the most attention is the way in which they announced their preseason tour, as it features wrestler and actor, John Cena, who makes a parody of Erling Haaland.

In the promotional video, Haaland receives a video call from John Cena, who is dressed as Manchester City’s Norwegian striker. In the call, Haaland confirms the venues they will visit on the preseason tour, while John Cena gets excited and even imitates Haaland’s iconic celebration. In that sense, it is worth noting that the cities to be visited by Guardiola’s team will be New York, Chapel Hill, Columbus and Orlando.

Possible preseason opponents

Although Manchester City’s opponents for that preseason tour have yet to be announced, both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona could be potential opponents, as the two Spanish clubs will meet in New York in August at MetLife Stadium.
