Erling Haaland is back, this is how much Manchester City lost during his injury

Manchester City finally has Erling Haaland available to play in the Premier League.

Manchester City has had a great run so far in all competitions this season. Unlike previous seasons, Man City had to depend on other players that were not named Kevin De Bruyne. De Bruyne missed most of the season but has returned in great fashion. Now they get to bring Erling Haaland, who returns from injury.

Kevin De Bruyne played the first game of the Premier League season against Burnley but was subbed off in the 23rd minute. De Bruyne made his long-awaited return in the FA Cup game against Huddersfield when he got an assist. The Belgian let the Premier League know he was back with a goal and an assist in Man City’s comeback win against Newcastle United.

The Belgian featured 25 minutes in Man City’s 1-0 win to Tottenham in the FA Cup last week. Meanwhile, De Bruyne was out for most of the first part of the season, and Haaland was scoring as many goals as he usually does. Despite suffering an injury that took him out for over a month, Haaland remains the top goal scorer of Man City and the Premier League. Only Mohamed Salah has the same amount of goals in the league, with 14.

Pep Guardiola mentioned in the press conference before the Burnley game at home about Haaland playing and if he was available to play. Guardiola said, “Apparently, will be selected, yeah. It’s the first time he’s back. Erling is an important player for us.”

Manchester City lost more than $5 million during the Erling Haaland injury

Erling Haaland suffered a foot injury during Manchester City’s 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in early December last year. If Erling Haaland does play tomorrow’s Premier League game against Burnely, the Norweigan striker will return after eight weeks out due to injury. Haaland earns $684,000 per week, which means Man City lost $5,472,000 since the player did not contribute on the pitch because of his injury.
