Cristiano Ronaldo causes angry mob after Al-Nassr cancelled games in China

Ronaldo’s injury caused Al-Nassr’s China tour to be cancelled and left Chinese fans disappointed and annoyed.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr were set to go to China for the Al-Nassr China tour. The Saudi Arabian club was going to face Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang. Plans were quickly changed after the news broke out that Cristiano Ronaldo was injured and wouldn’t feature in any of the two friendly games in China.

Al Nassr posted a statement regarding the cancellation of the two friendlies in China, and it disappointed many Ronaldo fans who wanted to see the Portuguese in their stadiums. Al Nassr stated, “ We are sad to announce that, unfortunately, and for reasons beyond Al Nassr‘s control, the event comprised of two matches scheduled on the 24th and 28th of January has been postponed to a date to be defined.

We came here in Shenzen with a lot of respect for Chinese football fans and specifically for the fans of Ronaldo. Taking this into consideration, in addition to the tight relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China, we, Al Nassr, are willing to complete our training camp as planned in Shenzhen, a city that has warmly welcomed us and shown so much love for us and our Captain.

Furthermore, we have agreed with the organizer to schedule a new match as soon as possible.”

Ronaldo said a few words about his injury that could leave him out for weeks. That means he is in danger of missing the anticipated game between Al Nassr and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami next week.

Ronaldo said, “ As you know, in football some things you cannot control. I have played 22 years in football, and I don’t have too many injuries. We have not canceled the game; we want to push for the game and be back here. We will be back.”

The Chinese people crowded the hotel where Al Nassr stayed in with signs of Ronaldo

Fans who were waiting for Ronaldo and Al-Nassr stormed into the hotel that Al Nassr stayed in. The football fans were left disappointed to hear the news of the cancelation of games and wanted to see Ronaldo up close before the team traveled back to Saudi Arabia. The positive news about this is the fans will receive refunds for the tickets bought for the Al Nassr games in China.
