Coach Ancelotti sheds light on Real Madrid’s loss of focus amidst the Mbappe arrival. How will this impact the team’s performance moving forward

Coach Ancelotti spoke about Real Madrid being said to lose focus because Kylian Mbappe is about to go to the Bernabeu, after being divided 1-1 by Rayo Vallecano in round 25 of La Liga.
Real Madrid missed the opportunity to extend their score with second-place team Girona to 8 points, before this opponent had a late match tonight (3:00 a.m. February 20) with Athletic.

Joselu soon put Real Madrid ahead in the 3rd minute, before ‘old friend’ Raul de Tomas equalized from the penalty spot (27th minute), in a match in which Dani Carvajal was sent off in the 5th minute of injury time.

The result makes coach Ancelotti’s team temporarily 6 points ahead of Girona, instead of 8, and the gap could narrow to 3 if the opponent wins tonight.

When asked if Real Madrid lost focus because of the news that Kylian Mbappe was about to join the Bernabeu, in the past few days, captain Carlo Ancelotti replied:

“Real Madrid lost focus? We remain focused. Today is the same. It’s very difficult to blame the team this season.”

He added: “We started very well and scored early. But after the penalty, the game changed, there were more duels, more like a battle. Of course, Real Madrid is not satisfied with being divided points.

We have to win every match. To win La Liga, if you can’t win, at least don’t lose. Sometimes a draw hurts but in the end it can be a positive step that helps Real Madrid win the tournament.”

Real Madrid is said to be actively conducting a controversial transfer deal for Kylian Mbappe, after the player informed PSG leaders as well as told his teammates that he will leave at the end of the season.
