Imagine finding out that your unborn baby is missing their limbs, it would feel like a knockout punch to you and shatter all your dreams of a perfect little baby.
Eight years ago, a young teenage mother-to-be received news that would change her life forever. During a pregnancy appointment, she learned that her unborn baby was developing without arms and legs — a diagnosis she had never imagined facing.
Like any expectant mother, she had dreamed of welcoming a healthy baby and watching him grow. Instead, she suddenly found herself facing an uncertain future filled with questions, fear and heartbreak.

Doctors warned that her little boy might not live long after birth. Still a teenager herself, she was terrified. She wondered whether she would have the strength and ability to care for a child with such complex needs.
Not everyone supported her decision, and the pressure surrounding her pregnancy made an already difficult situation even harder. But despite the doubts and uncertainty, she made a choice that came straight from her heart: she would give her baby the opportunity to live.
She believed her son deserved a chance, no matter what challenges lay ahead. And she was determined to surround him with all the love she could give.
That little boy was named Camden.
Today, eight years later, Camden has become a beautiful source of happiness and inspiration within his family. The child whose future once seemed so uncertain has brought countless smiles, precious memories and a kind of joy his mother could never have imagined on that difficult day.

Looking back, his family’s journey is a powerful reminder that a diagnosis does not tell the whole story of a child’s life. There may be challenges along the way, but there can also be love, laughter and moments worth cherishing.
His mother’s decision was never about knowing exactly what the future would hold. It was about choosing to give her son a chance and loving him unconditionally, whatever that journey might look like.
For their family, Camden is a living reminder of the words in Romans 8:28:
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.”
