His bad habit got the best of him.
A nicotine-ᑕrαzєd thief broke into a closed gas station on Long Island and made off with more than $1,500 worth of cigarettes — but left cash in the register behind, cops said.
The unknown crook, who has not been caught, smashed and barged through the front glass of an Applegreen Gas Station in Hicksville a little after 5 a.m. on Halloween morning, according to Nassau County police.

After gaining entry into the store, the thief quickly cleaned out the cig section behind the counter, stuffing the packs of smokes into a reusable Target bag before running off, security footage obtained by The Post shows.
The wanted smash-and-grab fugitive is described as a man wearing a dark colored T-shirt over a gray hoodie, dark pants, gloves, and a mask.
The investigation is still ongoing and Nassau County cops are asking anyone who may have information to contact them anonymously.
