He held up the same resistance band weight that Lindsay Clancy used and demonstrated just how much physical force it takes to stretch one and keep it pulled tight.

And when you actually stop and think about that, the reality of what happened to these three children becomes even harder to comprehend.

This wasn’t something that happened in a single instant and was immediately over. Prosecutors alleged that Lindsay Clancy strangled each of her three children with exercise bands, one after another.

Think about what that requires physically.

You have to pull. You have to maintain pressure. You have to keep going even as your muscles begin to strain and your body becomes tired.

And then, after one child, move to another.

And then another.

Three children. One by one.

That is the part of this case I simply cannot get past.

Whatever was happening inside that home, these children would have had the natural instinct to survive. Yet prosecutors alleged that the force was maintained long enough to take each of their lives.

To me, there is something profoundly dark—even demonic—about that kind of sustained destruction.

I’m not talking about some scientifically measurable “demonic strength.” I’m talking about the kind of spiritual darkness Scripture repeatedly associates with dєatᩚh and destruction.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to 𝘬iᩚll, and to destroy.” — John 10:10

And while millions of people debate Lindsay, defend Lindsay, and raise money for Lindsay, I refuse to let the three people who actually lost their lives become background characters in their own story.
