An attorney for the mother of 16 children found living in a squalid Vinton County, Ohio, home declined Wednesday to address speculation his client is pregnant.
Elizabeth Siders, 34, appeared in court holding her belly during an arraignment, prompting a reporter to ask her attorney, Thomas Stolly, whether she was pregnant.
“I can’t address that at this time,” Stolly said.
Stolly did, however, tell the court that Siders’ life of near-constant pregnancy has left her with mєntal health issues that render her incompetent to stand trial.

“We have an individual who was married at age 15 who has essentially been pregnant for the better part of two decades,” Stolly said.
He said Siders “has never fully gone through any postpartum period” and has not received medical care appropriate for someone who has had 16 to 18 children, adding that he has concerns about the effects of her young marriage and the environment inside the Siders household.

Siders was arraigned on 19 counts of child endangerment, two counts of 𝘴єxual battery and two counts of unlawful 𝘴єxual conduct with a minor. She pleaded not guilty to all charges.
A judge approved a $250,000 bond on the 𝘴єxual 𝘢bu𝘴e charges, on top of her existing $300,000 bond for child endangerment, bringing her total bond to $550,000. She was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims or with her husband. Stolly said she is unlikely to be able to post bond.
Ohio ‘House of Horrors’ case: What we know

Siders, her husband Gary Siders II, and his parents, Gary Siders Sr. and Christina Siders, all face 16 felony child endangerment and neglect charges after 16 children — ranging in age from 20 months to 18 years — were discovered June 30 in the family’s dilapidated Hamden home.
Authorities have described the children as “almost feral” and said none were enrolled in school; some cannot speak at all.
The oldest, 18, is developmentally disabled and cannot write her name, investigators said.
The children were discovered when police served a warrant on Gary Siders II and Elizabeth Siders in an unrelated case involving unlawful 𝘴єxual conduct with a minor. Neighbors said they had no idea children were living in the home.
Siders and Gary Siders II were indicted last month on the additional 𝘴єxual battery and unlawful 𝘴єxual conduct charges. In July, Siders asked through her attorney to see the children, but the court upheld its no-contact order.
Siders has said she is the biological mother of all 16 children. She and Gary Siders II married when she was 15, meaning she was a minor when she gave birth to her first child.
Siders is among several family members who have sought competency hearings. Gary Siders Sr. was found incompetent to stand trial last week.
