A teenage couple accused of killing five family members and injuring two others in a mass shooting allegedly had a disturbing conversation on Instagram before the murders.

Ja’ymier Davis, 16, and his 15-year-old girlfriend have been charged with carrying out a deadly shooting spree in southern Illinois over the weekend, Illinois State Police said on Tuesday.

Seven people were shot at different locations throughout East St. Louis – and five of them died.

Prosecutors said all the victims are related to the girl, who is being charged as a juvenile, while her boyfriend is charged as an adult.

The investigation began when human remains – later identified as Cherie L. May, 49 – were discovered at the Samuel Gompers Homes East St. Louis.

The probe led to the identification of four other shooting victims at multiple locations in the city – Shania W. Thompson, 25; Devin D. May, 24; Quentin L. Thompson, 21, and Patricia A. May, 74.

Prosecutors have now shared Instagram messages between the couple in which they allegedly discussed about the murders.

It is alleged that the girl texted her boyfriend, “Babe I’m finna lose my whole family for you.”

Prosecutors said that one victim was killed in a home at N. 39th St. and Summit Avenue and three others in a property at the Samuel Gompers Housing Development.

Three people were shot at Jones Park – one of them died, while the two surviving victims have been hospitalized.

According to Fox 2 Now, Cherie’s body was found in a tote behind a dumpster at the house complex, with investigators saying they believe she was killed days before Sunday’s violence.

It is alleged that Devin and Patricia visited Cherie’s home as they couldn’t reach her – and that when Devin went upstairs, where he found David and his girlfriend, who has only been identified as WT as she is a minor, he was shot in the head and killed.

Prosecutors said that Patricia was waiting outside in the car, and alleged that the girl went outside, lured her into the apartment, where Davis allegedly shot her.

Court documents allege that Patricia – the girl’s grandmother – had her right thumb cut. The thumb was allegedly kept in Davis’ vehicle and used to access the woman’s phone.

Lamarion Smiley, who identified himself as a relative of the victims, told 5 On Your Side that the teen couple killed the family members as they were being kept apart.

He alleged, “She ran away with this boy numerous times. Stayed in vacant houses with this boy, and every time we found her and brought her back home, we let her know, like, ‘You’re 15, you don’t know what love truly is yet.’”

The girl’s father, Marcus May, alleged that his ex-partner phone him five days before the killing spree to inform him that she had disappeared after allegedly stealing her gun.

Davis, who is being held at the St. Clair County Jail pending his first court appearance, has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery, one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking, one count of dismembering a human body, and one count of unlawful use of a stolen firearm.

WT is also facing charges of first-degree murder, with a release from ISP saying the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office will request that the case be transferred to adult criminal court.
