WHAT HAPPENED?

The Manchester City goal machine hilariously apologised to Brazil legend and former Real Madrid star Ronaldo as he replaced him with his cousin Jonatan Braun Brunes in his EA FC 24 ultimate team.

In his team, Haaland pairs up with Brunes upfront while Kylian Mbappe and Ronaldinho are slotted on the wings. The starting lineup also features club-mate Kyle Walker as the right-back while Manchester City legend Yaya Toure features in midfield.

WHAT ERLING HAALAND SAID

The Norwegian shared a screenshot of his team on his Instagram story and wrote, “Sorry @ronaldo have to drop you for my cousin @jonatanbrunes.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Interestingly, Haaland – who is the face of the video game – and Ronaldo were the highest-rated players in his team with 94 rating points yet he chose to pick his cousin Brunes who has a rating of 85.

EA Sports FC is a rebranded football video game built by EA Sports after the developers parted ways with long-standing partner FIFA in 2022.
