PSG Eyes MMA Franchise with Kylian Mbappe: Khabib Nurmagomedov Joins Forces

Former UFC hero Khabib Nurmagomedov has been in collaboration with the French side for some time and L’Equipe reports that the French club is set to begin a venture into the sport.

For several years, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has spoken about his desire to make the club a big name in the sports world. They have already created a teams in judo, handball and esports, and are set to further their expansion by entering the world of MMA.

Star striker Kylian Mbappe has developed an interest in MMA and was recently spotted at an event in Paris, where he saw Cedric Doumbe knock out Jordan Zebo.

Djamel Bouras, the president of PSG Judo, is expected to be at the forefront of their move into the popular combat sport while prominent MMA manager, Ali Abdelaziz, could also be involved. UFC hall of fame star Nurmagomedov may also be involved due to his close ties to Al-Khelaifi.

PSG will explore the possibility of entering MMA further, while their football team will return to Ligue 1 action on October 21 when they take on Strasbourg.
