Paris Saint-Germain continues to close the chapter on Kylian Mbappé

According to L’Équipe, while Kylian Mbappé (24) maintains a public air of calm, the France captain is “angry” about his current situation at Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappé has been “smiley and enthusiastic” while training alone at PSG’s new training facility. The rest of the team is now on a pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea. Les Parisiens have taken a firm stance following his reluctance to trigger a one-year extension in his contract. PSG wants to sell the France captain this summer in order to avoid losing the world’s most valuable player for free. Mbappé is not interested in extending his contract, but he also does not want to leave the Parc des Princes this summer. According to Ligue 1 champions inside sources, the player has already agreed to join Real Madrid in 2024.

The club’s hierarchy has been enraged by Mbappé’s stance. The athlete is apparently “angry” about the current circumstances, and he feels no responsibility to do the team any financial favors.

Meanwhile, the issue, which began earlier this summer with a letter telling PSG’s administration that he would not be triggering the extension, has moved on to a new chapter. Mbappé has been free to alter his mind about the one-year extension so far. However, the deadline for extending was July 31st. That deadline has passed with no signature.

The nature of his conflict with PSG has shifted. As reported by L’Équipe this morning, offers from Chelsea and Real Madrid are expected, with PSG eager to sell. The question now is how far PSG will go to drive Mbappé out. Will he be left out of Lorient’s first matchday squad on August 12th? Will he be left out of Les Parisiens’ Champions League squad, which is scheduled for submission on September 4th, if he stays beyond the conclusion of the summer transfer window, which shuts on September 1st?
