Luis Enrique’s revelation about Kylian Mbappe’s future and potential frustration at PSG has football fans buzzing.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique revealed club superstar Kylian Mbappe has the ‘liberty to play with freedom’ in whatever position he wants within the team but questioned whether he was ‘frustrated’ in Paris.

Mbappe gave PSG the lead from the penalty spot in the second half after Bafodé Diakité fouled defender Lucas Hernández. The France World Cup winner scored his 180th Ligue 1 goal before Lille hit back.

The reigning French champions were denied a win on the road as Jonathan David’s stoppage-time effort earned the plucky hosts a deserved point.

Mbappe mutely celebrated his goal and Enrique gave an assessment of the striker’s performance after the match.

The 24-year-old can play either as a striker or on the left-wing but often sees his position changed depending on the opponent at hand.

Explaining where Mbappe prefers to play in his set-up, Enrique said: ‘Kylian will play where he decides.

‘He has total liberty to play with freedom, freedom to play inside, outside, we rotate our positions, the difference is playing him striker inside or striker outside,’ he added.

Mbappe’s future at PSG is the subject of much scrutiny with the player widely-expected to leave Paris for Real Madrid in the summer.
