Lionel Messi consoles DJ Khaled’s crying son after stepping out as a mascot alongside him for Inter Miami’s game versus Atlanta on Tuesday night

Lionel Messi consoled DJ Khaled’s young kid prior to his first Inter Miami debut on Tuesday, when the soccer star walked out as a mascot before kickoff.

Asahd, 7, began crying when he stood in front of Messi in the team lineup, perhaps due to the commotion that greeted the team as they stepped out onto the field at the DRV PNK Stadium.

Messi saw and checked on young Asahd, who gave Messi a thumbs up as he regained his composure.

DJ Khaled himself later shared a video of Messi taking his son’s hand to walk him out onto the field before the start of the game and wrote: ‘I’m so proud of my son! Bless @leomessi!!!’

When Messi observed Asahd was crying, he placed his hands on his shoulders.

While Messi was meek before kickoff, he quickly revealed his merciless streak once the game began.

He scored twice in the first 22 minutes to help his new Inter Miami squad defeat Atlanta United 4-0.

His first goal was assisted by Sergio Busquets, as he raced through on goal, hit the post with his initial attempt, and then scored with the rebound.

When Atlanta failed to clear a pass into the penalty area, he scored his second goal. Then, after halftime, new teammate Robert Taylor scored twice to seal the game.

Messi played 78 minutes in his team’s second game as he works to regain his health.

On Tuesday, DJ Khaled was joined by other celebs including P Diddy and Camilla Cabello at Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium for Messi’s second game.
