Kylian Mbappe fans cannot stop laughing as PSG star stands next to 7ft 5 NBA prospect

Kylian Mbappe is head and shoulders above most athletes in the world, but he found himself in the unfamiliar position of being in the shadow of another star prodigy

Kylian Mbappe may have a sore neck this morning after meeting NBA’s top prospect Victor Wembanyama.

Standing at 5ft 10in, the Paris Saint-Germain megastar isn’t the biggest of footballers, but he’s hardly someone who will struggle to be allowed on the big roller coasters in theme parks. However, the World Cup winner may have been given flashbacks to his days in pre-school after he met the towering Metropolitans 92 star.

Wembanyama, a fellow Parisian, is being tipped to take the world of basketball by storm having been described as one of the greatest young prospects in NBA draft lottery history. Considering his imposing height, it is very easy to see why the NBA world has put so much expectation on his wide shoulders.

The French center stands at a whopping 7ft 5in and is head and shoulders over most players – figuratively and literally. Just in case you are not able to quite appreciate how tall Wembanyama is, have a gander at his meeting with Mbappe.

“What is that height,” one fan laughed on social media. “Mbappe linked up with the Eiffel Tower,” another commented.

“Neck hurting after a two minute conversation,” a third added, before a fourth wrote, “Mbappe really looking up to someone.” One fan also shared some sympathy for the person recording the unforgettable exchange, tweeting “cameraman got to move back 20 big steps to fit them both in a picture.”

“Kylian Mbappe is one of the biggest stars in the world, and he looks so normal and regular compared to Wembanyama,” laughed a fourth. Wembanyama is being tipped for brilliant things after, quite easily, being named the No.1 draft pick in the NBA draft lottery.

Wembanyama is expected to join the San Antonio Spurs, when the draft takes place on June 22. He even earned the respect of LA Lakers superstar and NBA goliath LeBron James, who described him as less of a “unicorn” and “more like an alien”.

James said: “No one has ever seen someone as tall as he is, and as fluid and as graceful as he is on the floor. “He’s for sure a generational talent.”
