How Kevin De Bruyne currently feels about his Man City future despite big Saudi Arabia offer

Kevin De Bruyne is a very important player for Manchester City.

Having made 382 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring 102 goals and supplying 170 assists along the way, the Belgian has played a key role in City’s trophy haul over the past few years.

With the 33-year-old set to enter the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, a move to Saudi Arabia has been mentioned in recent weeks.

Specifically, it was claimed by journalist Rudy Galetti on his X account earlier this month that the midfielder has verbally agreed to join Al Ittihad.

Now though, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding how De Bruyne is now feeling about what the next step in his career could be this summer.

How Kevin De Bruyne feels about staying at Man City or moving to Saudi Arabia

A recent report from Give Me Sport said this on the situation.

It said: “Kevin De Bruyne has also been made aware of a mouthwatering offer that could take him to the Middle East, but his preference is to remain with Manchester City and challenge for a fifth consecutive Premier League crown instead of heading through the exit door.

“Although the Belgium international has admitted that a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia is tempting to take, he is currently leaning towards staying at the Etihad Stadium as he aims to bounce back from the frustration of his country being eliminated from Euro 2024 at the round of 16 stage.”

De Bruyne staying at City would be good news

Even though he missed a large chunk of the previous Premier League campaign through injury, De Bruyne, who Danny Murphy previously described as the Roger Federer of football, still managed to deliver 10 assists in 18 games.

In fact, he ended the campaign with the highest rate of shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (7.36) and goal-creating actions per 90 minutes (1.18) in the division.

This highlights how much of a creative impact he can have in the team and why seeing him stay at the club this summer would be a big positive for them.
