History in the making! Erik ten Hag is on the verge of shattering Man Utd’s 118-year-old record.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag equaled a 118-year-old record as his side won 1-0 against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Bruno Fernandes scored the decisive goal in stoppage time to claim all three points at Craven Cottage.

This was Ten Hag’s 50th win since arriving as head coach of Manchester United, and it came in his 79th match in charge. As a result, the Dutch strategist equaled the record held by Ernest Mangnall since 1905.

Mangnall also achieved 50 wins in his first 79 games in charge of the Reds, and Ten Hag became the fastest head coach to achieve that number of wins. Jose Mourinho came close to breaking the record, but in the end, the Portuguese coach needed 81 matches in charge of the Manchester giants to achieve 50 wins.

Legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson did not reach 50 wins until his 105th match, while Sir Matt Busby needed 96 matches to reach his 50th win.

However, Ten Hag has lost 20 out of 79 matches, with only 9 draws since he arrived at Old Trafford.

The 53-year-old coach led Manchester United to a third-place finish in the Premier League last season, and ended the team’s six-year title drought by winning the EFL Cup.

However, the Red Devils have lost 8 times in all competitions this season, including 5 times in the Premier League, with a total of 18 points after 11 matches, leaving them 8th on the rankings.
