Despite ‘kicking’ Sancho out of the club, Man Utd still faced heavy losses. It’s a tough time for the team and their fans.

The German team can only afford 1/3 of Jadon Sancho’s salary, in case an agreement is reached to borrow this player from Manchester United.

According to The Times, Borrusia Dortmund has just sent a new proposal to Man Utd to loan Sancho. However, the home team at Signal Iduna Park accepted to shoulder 1/3 of the British star’s current salary. At Man Utd, Sancho pocketed up to 300,000 pounds/week.

Thus, in case Man Utd pushes Sancho to Dortmund, they will still have to spend about 5.2 million pounds on this player’s salary until the end of the 2023/24 season. Dortmund likely only wants to borrow Sancho for 6 months.

Dortmund does not have a tradition of breaking the salary structure for players. Because this easily makes a mess in the dressing room. Dortmund’s highest paid player is currently Niklas Sule, who only receives 166,000 pounds/week.

As for Man Utd, they are definitely not happy with the request to only shoulder 1/3 of Sancho’s salary. However, the Manchester representative has no other choice. British media said that Man Utd must accept Dortmund’s offer because it may be the only way to “kick” Sancho out of the club.

In the summer of 2021, Man Utd spent 73 million pounds to buy Sancho from Dortmund. The English midfielder was a big disappointment, never worthy of the money the “Red Devils” spent. While playing for Dortmund, Sancho scored 50 goals and had 57 assists in 137 matches. As for Man Utd, after 82 matches in all competitions, the midfielder born in 2000 only had 12 goals.

In August 2023, Sancho was removed from the Man Utd squad because of disagreement with coach Erik ten Hag. He also became “redundant” until now.
