Carlo Ancelotti talks Mbappe, Bellingham, future, Spanish NT: “Will find a place for him”

Real Madrid are gearing up for an exciting new season with the addition of Kylian Mbappe to their squad. This move is aimed at strengthening the team further, and Carlo Ancelotti remains at the helm as the head coach.

Amidst all the excitement, there has been a negative thought as to how Carlo Ancelotti would use the Frenchman alongside Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo.

However, Ancelotti recently shared his thoughts on the current state of his team and their plans for the upcoming season.

When questioned about the role Mbappe will play, Ancelotti appeared relaxed and assured.

“We will put him somewhere, I will find a place for him,” the Real Madrid coach stated confidently during a live stream at the Italian film festival, Giffoni Film Festival as quoted by SPORT.

Ancelotti on Jude Bellingham

One player who stood out last season was Bellingham. The young Englishman had a phenomenal debut season with Real Madrid, although his campaign ended on a sour note with a loss in the European Championship final. While talking about his impact, Ancelotti said,

“Bellingham’s success was surprising but largely due to his genetics. At just 21, he has shown immense character and passion. Genetics play a significant role in his performance, though training is also important.”

Thoughts in his future

Ancelotti was also asked about his future and where he sees himself once his tenure at Real Madrid ends.

“I don’t know when I’m going to retire. When Madrid gets tired of me, I’ll have to think about what to do.

Retire? I don’t know. On the one hand, I’d like to spend more time with my family, and travel, but if I still have enthusiasm, I’m sure I’ll find the impetus to continue,” he said.

When asked if he would consider coaching a national team, Ancelotti expressed his reluctance.

“Honestly, I’m reluctant. I prefer the work that is done in clubs because I like having time to improve, to live day to day, and that is difficult in a national team,” he added.

Lastly, Ancelotti also took a moment to praise the Spanish national team, which recently won the Euro 2024 championship.

“It was not a very intense Euro. Many teams arrived tired because the competition had just finished. Spain deservedly won because they played as a team, knowing how to take advantage of so many young talents alongside old champions,” he remarked.
