Big move for Mbappe! Reports suggest his salary demands at Liverpool or Real Madrid would be out of this world.

Kylian Mbappe’s salary requirements are difficult for Liverpool to meet, and therefore Real Madrid will have the upper hand in this deal.

Mbappe’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer and it is increasingly likely that he will stay at Parc Des Princes.

Although his new contract signed in 2022 was reported to run until 2025, it actually only extended for two years with an option to extend to a third year.

Although a new contract is still being negotiated, Mbappe does not want to trigger an extension and is therefore free to negotiate with foreign clubs and even sign a pre-contract agreement.

Real Madrid and Liverpool are the clubs leading the race for the French player, but even without a transfer fee, the cost of a deal with him will be very high.

The Telegraph said that Mbappe will expect to receive a huge amount of 64.5 million pounds per year. Breaking it down further, the reported salary package equates to £1.24 million a week. That number will almost certainly make Liverpool give up.

Liverpool’s number one star, Mohamed Salah, is the highest earner at Anfield, with a new 3-year contract worth £350,000/week.

Mbappe’s expected salary will be 4 times that number and will make it difficult for Liverpool to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Real have been chasing the former Monaco man for a long time and came close to signing him a few years ago. However, they may also have difficulty paying large salaries and may be forced to sell players to increase their budget.

There have been rumors recently about Mbappe reaching an agreement with Real, but PSG quickly denied it, claiming that he has not made any decisions about his future.

A statement said: “There is no agreement regarding Kylian’s future, as there have been no discussions about it.”
