Real Madrid ‘more than happy’ with Kylian Mbappe’s start, ignoring outside noise

When Real Madrid announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe earlier this summer, it was heralded as the start of an era of domination for the club with the Frenchman joining forces with other rising superstars like Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Fede Valverde, among others.

Things began in a perfect manner for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner as he scored on his debut for Real Madrid against Atalanta, helping the team win the UEFA Super Cup – his first trophy at the club.

However, in the two weeks that have followed, Mbappe has been unable to build on that as he is yet to open his goalscoring account in La Liga, having put in two uncharacteristically quiet displays against Mallorca and Real Valladolid.

It has led to criticism and questions from some sections of the Spanish media as well as the French media.

Real Madrid unperturbed

While his quality on the pitch was never a doubt, the Real Madrid dressing room has been impressed by the desire shown by the 25-year-old to work and improve and to be ‘one more’ in the team, dispelling any concerns of ego clashes.

Mbappe is said to seek out and help his new teammates on the pitch and away from the pitch.

The coaching staff led by Carlo Ancelotti highlight his quality and his excellent willingness to work, which he has shown from day one.

Ancelotti and Real Madrid are willing to be patient with Mbappe, knowing that he will gradually reach his best version as he adapts to a new team and a new system altogether.

As far as the question marks about his playing position are concerned, Mbappe is absolutely willing to play either through the centre or on the left flank.

With Real Madrid set to take on UD Las Palmas tomorrow in La Liga, Mbappe will be eager to get his first goal in the competition.
