If you know even a little bit about the humpback whale, you are already well aware of their formidable size. These massive creatures may not seem very agile, but their ability to leap definitely causes a major stir.
Did you know that a fully grown humpback whale weighs the exact same amount as at least 24 grown up hippos? While this amount of weight may cause you to wonder how the humpback whale can move with such grace, this incredible video allows you to see more.
The clip takes place in South Africa. Can you believe the grace and agility that this animal can move with? Even professional ballerinas would be hard pressed to duplicate moves like these. The footage that you are about to see was shot off the Indian Ocean coast. Craig Capeheart was the lucky scuba diver that happened to be present when the amazing giant made its appearance.
We cannot even begin to imagine the excitement that Craig must have felt. There were no earlier recordings of humpback whale jumps before and we are proud to bring you the first such video of this nature. While it is definitely hard to believe that this is the first instance of a humpback whale making such a leap on camera, these animals partake in feats of greatness on a regular basis.
It is tough to admit this openly, but we certainly have a wee bit of jealousy when it comes to this clip. Of all the times we’ve gone out fishing or swimming in the ocean, we have never seen an even that is even a fraction as awesome as this one. Oh well, better luck next time.
This is the type of video that may even end up inspiring more questions than answers. Fascinating creatures like these are not always easy to catch in action, so when someone is finally able to capture a humpback whale while they are in the midst of doing several leaps, we are just fortunate that they thought to press record and share it with the rest of us.
What do you think of this video? Have you ever been able to see something this incredible? If not, please be sure to share the wealth and pass it along to all of your closest friends and family members as soon as possible. After all, there is no point in hogging it all to yourself, now is there?
