A dog who resembled a stone statue arrived at a shelter in South Texas on his last leg. The poor boy was completely hairless and his skin scabby and gray.
Staff knew in order for him to survive, he’d need the absolute best care. So they called upon Rescue Dogs Rock NYC for help!
They couldn’t even tell what type of dog he was by looking at him. Grinch just seemed so sad and disconnected from everything and everyone.
He must have been suffering for so long, but no one could know for sure. But the time to begin to fight was now!
They transferred Grinch to a local vet to begin treatment for his skin condition and other illnesses and to put on some weight.
The dog ended up responding well to the treatment and was placed in a foster home about a month later! But Grinch was still shy and even backed away from other dogs.
Grinch slowly learned to trust people as he worked with his foster mom and discovered how much he loves playing with a ball!
His fur started growing back, and just five months after being rescued, Grinch looks totally different. The Shepherd/Malinois mix dog was revealed, and with that came the sweetest personality too! 🙂
Grinch is just another example of a dog just needing that second chance in life to thrive. Isn’t he just beautiful now?
