Neymar will be involved with Santos FC again but in a different way.
Ronaldo Nazario wants to sell Cruzeiro soon, and Brazilian media predicts that Neymar and his father could potentially purchase a stake in the Brazilian club Santos FC. Neymar played in Santos during his youth career, and it was his first professional football team. Brazilian journalist Mauro Beting believes that the Brazilian star and his father would eventually follow in Ronaldo Nazario’s footsteps and own a part of their own boyhood club. Beting said, “He won’t just return to Santos. I don’t know if now or sooner rather than later, and let it be understood with respect what I am going to say: he and his father will buy Santos. The same thing Ronaldo did with Cruzeiro is what they are going to do with Santos”.
Neymar shined at Santos from 2009 to 2013 until he made his move to FC Barcelona to showcase his skills to all of Europe. Neymar was a sensation in Santos and was part of the shortlist for the 2011 Ballon d’Or. It was a great year for the young Brazilian since he won the 2011 FIFA Puskas Award for the best goal.
Neymar made 140 appearances for Santos at the start of his career, where he scored 72 goals and provided 35 assists. Despite playing in the Brazilian league, Neymar fascinated the football world and was the only player on the shortlist of Ballon d’Or nominees who played in South America. Neymar recently came back to watch a couple of Santos games this year in Brazil and the fans hope that one day the player could play for them once again.
Neymar was close to winning a league title this season despite being injured
Neymar could win the Saudi Pro League despite only playing five games for Al Hilal because of an ACL injury he suffered last October. Al Hilal is first with 80 points after 28 games played. Al Hilal has 26 wins and two draws and only needs seven more points to win the Saudi Pro League. Neymar already lifted on trophy this season when Al Hilal won the Saudi Super Cup.
