Neymar Jr., having played alongside Lionel Messi at FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, openly expresses his desire for another stint as a teammate with the Argentine star despite currently being in separate leagues.
The Brazilian left PSG last summer, joining Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Messi left the French capital to sign with Inter Miami. Still, the 32-year-old does miss playing alongside the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner and he provided an update on his former PSG teammate.
While at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Neymar spoke with ESPN (h/t Le10Sport) and noted how Messi is doing after leaving PSG last year as the veteran adapts to life in Miami.
“Me and Messi playing together again? I hope so,” Neymar said. “I hope we can play together again. He’s a great person; everyone knows him. I think he’s happy in Miami, and if he’s happy, I’m happy too.”
The Ligue 1 side will lose another superstar player this summer, as Kylian Mbappé is reportedly exiting in June. The Frenchman will reportedly join Real Madrid once his contract with PSG expires.
According to a recent report, the 25-year-old has to find a definitive agreement with Real Madrid before knowing how much he could leave to PSG. The sum that the forward will leave the Parisians is between €100 million and €150 million.
