Neymar’s anti Paris Saint-Germain sentiment shows no sign of abating after calling a pro-Kylian Mbappe Instagram account owner a “gringo suckup”.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Neymar left PSG last summer on something of a sour note, with fans celebrating his move to Al-Hilal after urging him to leave the club sooner. It appears the fallout over his departure has left a bad taste in the mouth, highlighted by the fact he celebrated Raphinha’s goal for Barcelona against the Ligue 1 outfit in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final last week. Before PSG’s 4-1 win over the Spanish giants, the 32-year-old took exception to an Instagram account praising his ex-team-mate Mbappe.
WHAT NEYMAR SAID
The Instagram post says: “Mbappe has once again shown that he is a good man and not the villain of a poorly told story,” to which the Brazilian international replied: “Gringo (foreigner) suckup.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Neymar reportedly had an ignominious exit from PSG in 2023 after six years at the club, following four seasons with Barcelona. He reportedly turned up drunk to some PSG training sessions and lost Mbappe’s respect during a turbulent end. This comes at a time where the Frenchman is proving to be one of the best players in the world, while Neymar recovers from a knee injury.
WHAT NEXT?
While Neymar is continuing his rehab, with the Brazilian expected to return for Al-Hilal next season, Mbappe’s PSG will face Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the Champions League later this month.
