Kylian Mbappé is set to join Real Madrid and become the best paid player in the squad.
Real Madrid is still working on a few details left in the Kylian Mbappé deal for this summer as the French star is more than ready to join them. Real Madrid knows the caliber of the player they are bringing in this summer, but the club does not want to overspend on him in terms of salary. Mbappé is already arriving at the club for free since he reportedly told PSG he will not renew with them and leave this summer. The issue now is to negotiate a reasonable wage that Real Madrid could afford since Mbappé is one of the best-paid athletes in the world.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé have an agreement over his salary. It will be similar to Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham. Other reports like L’Equipe suggest that Mbappé’s monthly salary is the most of any player in the top five European leagues. Mbappé’s monthly salary at PSG currently is at around $6.5 million. This is more than Ousmane Dembele ($1.21M), Marquinhos ($1.21M), Lucas Hernandez ($1.1M), Milan Skriniar ($1.1M) and Gianluigi Donnarumma ($925K) combined.
L’Equipe also reports that Kylian Mbappé is on the way to becoming Real Madrid’s highest-paid player, with a gross monthly salary of between $2.7 million and $3.2 million. All that is left is the image rights details for Mbappé to officially sign the contract to become a Real Madrid player next season, along with Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham. The French star seems set to join Los Blancos and announce the signing as soon as both PSG and Real Madrid can no longer face each other. If both teams do well, the deal could be announced in June after the Champions League final.
PSG and Real Madrid could face each other in the Champions League final
PSG and Real Madrid are on the opposite sides of the Champions League bracket. PSG will take on FC Barcelona in the quarterfinals, while Real Madrid will play against Manchester City. If both go out in this round, then the Mbappé announcement could be released sooner, but it could not be announced in June since there is a chance both sides face each other in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium.
