Neymar Jr will reunite with a former FC Barcelona teammate for a big event this year.
Neymar is known to be an entertainer on the ball whenever he steps foot on a football pitch. He shined on the pitch with his amazing skills and goals. Neymar shinned in Brazil during his early Santos days and at FC Barcelona in Spain. He took over PSG and will soon take over Saudi Arabia when he returns from his ACL injury in October. Since the Brazilian has more time on his hands, he decided to collaborate with a former FC Barcelona teammate of his.
Former FC Barcelona captain Gerard Pique announced his famous Kings League competition has a twist. The Spaniard announced that there would be a new tournament called the Kings World Cup. They announced that the host country would be Mexico and that the prize money for the winner would be $1,000,000.
The tournament will include 32 teams. Ten teams are from the King’s League in Spain, ten are from the Americas, and 12 invited teams are from different countries. Two wild card teams were revealed as G3X FC and FURIA FC. The competition will start on the 26th of May and will end on June 9th. The first phase will be a Swiss system format, which will include 40 direct matches and a final phase starting from the quarter-finals to the final.
In a video posted on Instagram, FC Barcelona fans had flashbacks to 2017. Pique recorded a video saying, “This time, he’s staying”, showing Neymar with him and the Brazilian laughing, saying, “This time it’s true.”
Neymar will have a team in the Kings World Cup. His team’s name will be Furia FC. He already had two members on the team. He has Allan Rodriguez, a Twitch streamer, and Falcao, arguably the most famous professional futsal player in the world.
