Erling Haaland responds to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s comments on Man City this week.
Liverpool and Manchester City’s rivalry seems more heated than ever, as the most anticipated game of the season between the two is this Sunday. The Premier League game between these two sides at Anfield will be one of, if not the season’s biggest game. The game will be played as a final since both teams are separated by one point on the table. Liverpool is first in the Premier League table with 63 points; meanwhile, Man City is second with 62 points. Trent Alexander-Arnold has heated up the game with some comments, but now it gets even more spicy.
Alexander-Arnold spoke about Man City’s way of winning trophies compared to Liverpool winning trophies. The young English right-back said the trophies Liverpool wins are more meaningful due to the financial differences between the clubs.
Alexander-Arnold said, “Looking back on this era, although they’ve [Man City] won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially. How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we’ve done it, probably means more to our fans.”
In an interview with Sky Sports, Erling Haaland was asked about his opinion about these comments. Haaland was not shy about expressing his feelings about those comments and replied, ” If he wants to say that, OK. I’ve been here one year, and I won the treble. It was quite a nice feeling. I don’t think he knows exactly this feeling. Liverpool can talk as much as they want, or Trent Alexander-Arnold can talk as much as he wants… I don’t know why he does that, but I don’t mind.”
Ruben Dias also spoke about Alexander Arnold’s comments on Man City
In an interview with BBC Sport Manchester, Ruben Dias also spoke about the comments of the Liverpool player. Dias said, “I think it’s pretty certain between us, between our fans, how much it meant for all of us… A Treble is a feeling that you only know how it feels when you actually do it.”
