Real Madrid plans to combine Kylian Mbappe with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Jude Bellingham to form a core quartet in the team’s attack.
Many Spanish sources said that “Los Blancos” President, Florentino Perez, did not buy Mbappe to replace Vinicius, Bellingham or Rodrygo. He wants these four players to play together on Real’s attack.
According to Goal, coach Carlo Ancelotti has two main ways to realize President Perez’s wishes. The most obvious option is to use a 4-3-3 formation, with Mbappe playing highest in attack, Vinicius and Rodrygo on the wings, and Bellingham playing low in midfield.
Another solution for Real is the 4-3-1-2 formation, a strategy this club uses regularly at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. There, Mbappe replaced Rodrygo, along with Vinicius to become the highest-ranking duo in attack, with Bellingham supporting the number 10 position.
Transfermarkt said Mbappe has gradually changed his preferred playing position from left wing striker to center forward in recent seasons. Up to now in the 2023/24 season, the French striker has played 18 times as number 9 after 31 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.
This indicates that Mbappe can take on the highest position in attack if he moves to Real. In case “Los Blancos” lacks personnel due to injury, the 25-year-old player is also capable of filling the left wing striker position.
Mbappe is highly likely to move to Real in the summer of 2024, when his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires. There is information revealing that the French player will receive a bonus of up to 120-150 million euros if he signs a contract with the Madrid club.
