Man City’s superstar striker Erling Haaland recently chose his dream team of 5 football legends, indispensable Ronaldo and Messi.
In an exclusive interview, striker Erling Haaland revealed his choice for the 5-man dream team of world football. Here, two iconic figures in modern football history are indispensable: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
In addition, 3 other legends were also named by Haaland. Notably, they are all superstars who have never played in the Premier League.
“I think I need to bring in a Brazilian. I want to see Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paolo Maldini in my team. Then I need a keeper, right? I will choose Iker Casillas.” Haaland told the Manchester City podcast.
As a goalkeeper, Haaland also expressed his admiration for his Man City teammate Ederson Moraes. The Brazilian goalkeeper is famous for his accurate long passing ability, so the 24-year-old striker wants to put him in his dream team.
However, Haaland ultimately did not do so and chose Iker Casillas – the legendary former captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. Explaining this decision, the Man City striker joked that the remaining four names were so excellent that Ederson would not have the ball to show off.
“I really like Ederson because of his footwork. With these 5-a-side matches, if he was allowed to shoot, he would score 15 goals!”
Erling Haaland recently recovered and played again for Man City after suffering a foot bone injury in December. This player came off the bench in the match against Burnley and started in the victory against Brentford .
Here, Haaland did not score but still managed to contribute an assist to help Man City win. Despite being out of action for more than a month, the Norwegian striker is still leading the Premier League top scorer list with 14 goals.
