Saudi Arabia already to look to new players to join the Saudi Pro League.
The Saudi Pro League caused chaos in European football last summer. The league made incredible signings that caught the football world’s attention. Some of the biggest names in football did the unthinkable and joined the Saudi Arabian league last summer, and it might not stop there.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr in January of 2023 surprised many football fans. Knowing the competitiveness of the Portuguese striker, many thought he would stay in Europe after his second spell at Manchester United. Ronaldo signed a two-and-a-half-year contract worth more than $200 million a year. Ronaldo scored 14 goals and got two assists in 19 games for his first season with Al-Nassr.
Now, Ronaldo has doubled his goals this season with the Saudi club, scoring 30 goals in 31 games for Al-Nassr in all competitions. He is the top goal scorer in the league with 20 goals in 18 league games. Ronaldo doesn’t seem to slow down at 38 and has been seen as the main reason why most stars decided to move to Saudi Arabia as well.
Summer transfers to the Saudi League that shocked the football world were Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Yassie Bounou, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Neymar. With the Saudi Pro League signing all of these players, they look to get two more big names this summer. Saudi Arabia is investing big in football and plans to host the 2034 World Cup. Saudi Arabia might look at two big Premier League names to join the league sooner rather than later.
Saudi Arabia looks to bring in Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne with a $2.3 billion budget this summer
Saudi Arabia is not done with signing world-class players for their league as they look to bring in Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne this summer. They have been identified by the Saudi Pro League as the main targets for this summer and look to spend around 2.3 billion euros. The league also looks to sign young players such as Gabri Veiga and Jota.
