Ronaldo takes pride in surpassing Haaland’s scoring record, but both players continue to inspire fans with their incredible talent on the field.

Ronaldo is proud to have a better scoring record than Haaland
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted feeling proud when beating Erling Haaland in the number of goals in 2023 despite turning 38 years old. CR7 shared at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai:

“I am the best scorer this season. Imagine beating a beast like Haaland. I am proud. And I’m about to turn 39 years old. I love it when people doubt me and I succeed. I am not affected by criticism.”

Ronaldo also shared about when he considered retiring: “When I feel that I am completely out of time, I will retire. Maybe 10 years from now?”.

Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr after a conflict with coach Ten Hag at Man United. The Portuguese striker initially had many difficulties in integrating but has exploded in the 2023/24 season. Currently, Ronaldo is leading the scoring list in the Saudi Pro League with 20 goals.

Ronaldo was on winter break when the Saudi Pro League was suspended to make way for the AFC Asian Cup tournament taking place in Qatar. However, Ronaldo will soon return to training and prepare for two friendly matches against Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang Greentown. After that, Al-Nassr will face Inter Miami and this is an opportunity for the rival pair Ronaldo – Messi to reunite.

Although Ronaldo played explosively this season, Al-Nassr is still ranked 2nd on the Saudi Pro League rankings. Al-Hilal’s distance to the top of the table is 7 points.
