Great news for Man Utd fans! The club has activated a contract clause to keep Lindelof.

Manchester United have automatically extended Victor Lindelof’s contract for another year, meaning the Swedish midfielder will stay at Old Trafford until June 2025.

It looks like Victor Lindelof’s time at Manchester United will not end in this 2023/2024 season. The Swedish midfielder’s contract is expected to expire in June 2024, but his contract has a clause that the club can activate to extend for another year.

According to transfer news boss Fabrizio Romano, Man United is satisfied with the Swedish international’s services and has extended the contract with the 29-year-old defender until June 2025.

The former Benfica man will therefore complete nine seasons at Old Trafford, which he joined in the summer of 2017 after ending his time with the Portuguese side.

Lindelof has been a key player in Erik ten Hag’s defense this season, playing 1,331 minutes in 18 official appearances, 14 of which were starts.

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong’s equivocal words recently are making the Manchester club excited, when the Dutch star admitted that Man Utd’s interest ‘could’ bring him new motivation.

Frenkie de Jong gave an interview to Dutch media outlet NOS in which he asserted that FC Barcelona is “his dream club”, but that “maybe” trying his luck in the Premier League would bring give you new motivations.

Frenkie de Jong has fueled rumors about a possible Catalan exit in an interview with Dutch media ‘NOS’.

The Dutch midfielder made it clear that he feels fine in Xavi Hernandez’s team. But when asked if trying his luck in another tournament would give him new motivations, de Jong replied unequivocally.

“Maybe. But I’m very satisfied at Barca. It’s always difficult to say. Right now I feel good here!”.

Barcelona can put de Jong on the floor at any time and Man United knows they cannot relax for any moment.
