Mbappe’s unstoppable performance fuels PSG’s dominant victory over AC Milan!

Three weeks after losing 1-4 to Newcastle, PSG must win against Milan to revive their hopes of getting into the 1/8 round. However, in the first minutes, Milan played better. The seven-time Champions League/C1 Cup winners created a series of corners and Rafael Leao almost opened the scoring. The Portuguese star had a shot that went wide and a curling shot that missed the post.

It wasn’t until midway through the first half that PSG “warmed up”. Mbappe plays a key role in causing mutations in the home team’s attack. In the 32nd minute, after a pass from Warren Zaire-Emery, the French striker ran in front of Fikayo Tomori, then shot into the near corner into Milan’s net. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan stood still in surprise at the direction of his French teammate’s shot.

The opening goal became a psychological medicine to help PSG become more excited. Immediately after the first half, without VAR intervention, Ousmane Dembele could have scored his first goal for PSG. The referee determined that Manuel Ugarte fouled Yunus Musah in an attack situation, so he refused to recognize the goal for the former Barca player.

Not long after, Milan missed the opportunity to equalize. After a long pass from goalkeeper Maignan, Christian Pulisic tried to cross to Giroud instead of finishing it himself. Immediately afterwards, in the 53rd minute, Milan had to pay a heavy price for wasting the opportunity. Kolo Muani chose the right position to shoot after Maignan pushed Dembele’s cross-angle shot, increasing the score to 2-0.

Muani scored the first goal of his career in the Champions League. The former Frankfurt striker also increased PSG’s record from the beginning of the season to three goals in eight matches.

After being two goals down, Milan pressed forward to attack. However, on an unlucky day, the away team’s finishing efforts did not yield results. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma successfully blocked Giroud’s lob and header and pushed Leao’s shot from close range away from the post.

In the 89th minute, Milan fell into PSG’s counterattack trap. After a breakthrough on the right wing, Zaire-Emery passed a cross into the penalty area for substitute Lee Kang In to score a low shot to seal the 3-0 victory. With two assists in this match, Zaire-Emery received the Best Player of the Match award from UEFA.

The big win over Milan helped PSG reclaim the top spot in Group F. PSG currently has six points after three matches, two points ahead of Dortmund and Newcastle, while Milan is last with two points. In the match at the same time, Dortmund won 1-0 at Newcastle’s field.
