Dior Names Paris Saint-Germain Footballer Kylian Mbappé As Its Newest Face

Dior announced the star striker of Paris Saint-Germain Kylian Mbappé as its newest brand ambassador

There has always been a strong relationship between football and luxury fashion, and French fashion house Dior followed this synergy into the locker rooms of Paris Saint-Germain, naming its star striker, Kylian Mbappé, as its newest brand ambassador for men’s fashion and perfumes. Taking over from actor Johnny Depp, the sportsman, who has Algerian roots, is now the new face of the fragrance line Dior Sauvage, and ambassador for the house, currently in the hands of artistic director Kim Jones.

Despite being just 22 years of age, Mbappé is a rising star in the football sphere, which he has dedicated his life to, and Dior was the perfect complement to his achievements so far. He shared his enthusiasm on the collaboration on Instagram by saying, “I am delighted to announce that I am now officially part of Maison Dior. Can’t wait to share our collaborations in men’s fashion and Sauvage fragrance.” According to Dior, the Sauvage Eau de Parfum depicts the aura of a mysterious night: “In the hour when the wolves come out and the sky is set ablaze, a new magic unfolds.”

“The house of Dior is particularly happy to welcome Kylian Mbappé, with whom it shares the same values of exacting standards and generosity,” said the house of Dior in a statement, as it revealed that Mbappé “will now be lending his image to the creations of Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior men’s collections and to the Sauvage perfume.”

The star striker of France when it was named winner of the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia has been seen championing the brand while off-duty in the past. He has also been gifted the first draft of Air Dior by Kim Jones. The 22-year-old will join the ranks of the Dior family alongside stars like Johnny Depp and Robert Pattinson, as he embarks on the football-fashion synergy with other sportsmen like Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, and Lionel Messi.
