San Diego Registrar of Voters evacuated over possible bomb threat: cops

A bomb threat sparked a major security scare at the San Diego County Registrar of Voters building Monday afternoon after a suspicious suitcase was discovered in the lobby, prompting authorities to evacuate the facility and shut down surrounding streets.

The San Diego Police Department confirmed that a suitcase was found in the building’s front lobby at approximately 1:45 p.m., triggering an evacuation as a precaution.

Police also closed nearby streets while authorities responded to the potential threat.
