A 911 dispatcher could be heard describing a Michigan home ‘full of smoke’ before responders found the bodies of Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, 39, and their six children.

Haunting 911 dispatch audio details the moment smoke was seen pouring out of a Michigan home after a dad allegedly murdered his wife and their children before setting the residence on fire.

Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, is , ranging in age from five to 15, at their home last week. Following the killings, Kristopher set the property ablaze and ended his own life.

The family’s bodies were found at their Grand Haven Township home on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan last Friday. Emergency services initially .

They searched for the source of the fire but were unable to locate it. Fire crews returned to the scene just before 11.45 am after another caller reported white smoke coming from the house.

Dispatch audio detailed how the smoke was coming out of the windows. Investigators believe Kristopher ignited multiple blazes throughout the property.

The family’s pets also died in the fires. “The cause and origin of the residential fire remains under investigation by Michigan State Police arson investigators. However, preliminary indications are that the fire was intentionally set in numerous places throughout the interior of the residence. The family pets also perished due to the fire/smoke,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Prior to the murders, Mandy allegedly revealed in a Reddit post that her husband had had an affair. In the Reddit messages, an account believed to belong to Mandy revealed she had noticed “major red flags” about her husband.

She allegedly described Kristopher as “sneaky” and occasionally violent. He purportedly engaged in an affair with a workplace intern, which she disclosed on a support forum for those affected by cheating.

The messages attributed to the mother were posted under the username “MandyK1179”, according to The Detroit News. Prior to discovering the affair, she characterized her life as a “Hallmark movie.”

She wrote: “After about a year of self-loathing, I remember crying and looking at myself in the mirror and realizing how f—– up it was that I was the one who was living so miserably because of what he did.

“I finally realized that I had been the only person who has ever showed up for myself my whole entire life.” She revealed: “He’s always had major red flags that I ignored due to my own trauma and anxious attachment. He was raised in a toxic family dynamic that encouraged lying about everything.”

She described instances when the relationship turned violent, including an occasion when she pushed him after discovering an “emotional” affair. In 2024, she stated: “I don’t feel bad still. He towers over me and destroyed me mentally. It felt like I was being assaulted and needed to fight back. I think it’s a fight or flight thing.”

Mandy worked as an elementary school substitute teacher. Her mother and stepfather released a statement saying she “was a kind and devoted soul who loved her family and her students.

“We treasured every moment we had with her and her six children, and words cannot adequately address our devastation,” they expressed, noting they “pray for God’s peace and comfort as we grieve their deaths and honor their lives.”

Kristopher served as vice president of sales and marketing for the American Heart Association from September 2023 until earlier this month, when his employment concluded, the organization confirmed in a statement.

The pair first crossed paths while working at a beverage company in 2008 and started their relationship that summer, according to a parenting blog that Mandy Karolkiewicz maintained more than a decade ago. They tied the knot in August 2009.
