Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have got updated ratings ahead of EA FC 25 being officially released – and they have got fans talking.
Top ratings for the game’s Ultimate Team mode have been ‘leaked’ by various insiders over recent days, including the top 50 players and stars from Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Several United ratings caused a stir, including EA’s decision to drop Casemiro to an 84-rated card with just 33 pace.
But Ronaldo’s card has got fans talking.
While the Al Nassr star has kept his 86 rating from EA FC 24, he has been given several stat boosts.
Ronaldo now has an increase of two passing points from 75 to 77, while his physical has gone up three points from 74 to 77.
Neymar, meanwhile, has been downgraded by two ahead of EA FC 25.
His shooting has gone down by four points to drop below 80, while his pace, passing, physical and dribbling have all had one-point downgrades.
Ronaldo, 39, was the top goalscorer out of the top first division leagues last season, ahead of the likes of Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.
Neymar, meanwhile, missed almost the entire 2023/24 season after suffering a serious knee injury on international duty with Brazil in October. The 32-year-old had signed for Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal two months earlier.
Fans took to Twitter to react to Ronaldo and Neymar’s new ratings, with one writing: “How come Ronaldo doesn’t get an upgrade after last season? What other 39-year-old player scores over 50 goals in a season?”
Another fan disagreed: “Should be downgraded to below walkout level. Same with Messi. Not giving enough credit to people who perform in the top leagues.”
On Neymar’s rating, one fan wrote: “The prince who never became king.”
Another argued: “Sorry, but if they [Ronaldo and Neymar] both play in Saudi then Ronaldo should be higher than Neymar, considering the numbers Ronaldo had last season. There is no way Ronaldo is 86 and Neymar 87.”
